About Pasadena EDC

Pasadena Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) was created in 1998 as a nonprofit, Type B corporation under the Texas Development Corporation Act. It is financed by a half-cent sales tax collected in the City of Pasadena, TX. State law allows the city to collect this sales tax to pursue specifically authorized economic development activities in the city. The seven members of PEDC's Board of Directors are appointed by and serve at the discretion of the City of Pasadena Mayor and City Council.

Since our establishment as an organization, we've facilitated significant growth in the city through our work with developers, entrepreneurs and existing businesses to plant their roots, or expand and enhance their organizations. PEDC serves as an ally to Pasadena businesses by connecting them to the right resources they need to find success and keep their business in Pasadena. Each of our Pasadena businesses, big or small, make significant impacts in our local economy as well as help set the tone for living, working, and playing in the city.

PEDC works as the first stop in a businesses journey through establishing their organization in our city to ensure they have the support they need to be a thriving force in our business community. We work with local businesses, developers, site selectors and others to facilitate relocation, and business retention and expansion throughout the city.
