Recent improvements have Pasadena officials dreaming of possibilities for Shaw Avenue

After completion of the first phase of a project to revitalize Shaw Avenue, the Pasadena Economic Development Corp. plans to work with property owners to seek grants to beautify buildings in the area with hopes of sparking something big.
"I love that area and I think it is a unique opportunity for an entertainment district or mixed-use element," PEDC redevelopment manager Sheena Salvino said. "We could start to revive night life in the city, which would be great. It's got easy access to Texas 225 and easy access to the city; so it's an interesting opportunity area."
Pasadena Mayor Jeff Wagner said the recent phase was only the beginning.
"We look forward to continuing our strategic transformational redevelopment efforts in the area through ongoing and future projects," he said.
