{Pasadena, TX – October 16,2020} The Pasadena Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) was awarded a Gold Rank for its Pasadena Pulse E-Newsletter, a project in the category of Magazine and Newsletter of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The honor was presented yesterday at an awards ceremony during the IEDC Annual Conference, which is currently underway.

“Over the last two years, the organization has significantly increased its marketing efforts to ensure we are bringing the most reliable and up-to-date information to our community and regional partners. PEDC’s Board of Directors and Staff are honored to receive this award in recognition of this initiative,” said PEDC’s Chairman Steve Cote.

IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year's most influential leaders. 35 award categories honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities. Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers from around the world, following a nomination process held earlier this year. IEDC received over 500 submissions from 4 countries.

“The Pasadena Pulse E-Newsletter was created as a component of PEDC’s community branding and marketing efforts,” said Suzette McDowell, Marketing Manager for PEDC. “It focuses on delivering information on current redevelopment projects, infrastructure improvements, key community data, and other relevant Economic Development news.”

The project has increased awareness for constituents and the Pasadena business community around the importance of Economic Development. Additionally, it has also aided in highlighting PEDC’s strategic initiatives and tools that may be used to learn more about the community overall. The Pasadena Pulse also showcases the advantages of living and working in Pasadena, Texas.

“The winners of IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development awards represent the very best of economic development and exemplify the ingenuity, integrity, and leadership that our profession strives for each and every day”, said 2020 IEDC Board Chair and One Columbus CEO Kenny McDonald. “We’re honored to recognize the more than 100 communities whose marketing campaigns, projects, and partnerships have measurably improved regional quality of life.”
