With temperatures regularly topping 100 degrees this summer, the reopening of El Jardin Beach Park was a welcome sight.
The park at 500 El Jardin Drive in Pasadena was closed at Thanksgiving so that a new parking lot could be constructed, but it reopened July 4.
The new lot at the park by Galveston Bay can accomodate 96 vehicles, almost four times what could be held at the old 20-vehicle lot.
Although the parking lot is brand new, Pasadena Parks Director Jed Aplaca said some work remains to be done in the $712,312 project.
