1 in 5 Houston students earn living wages after graduation. These two high schools beat the odds.

Most Houston-area students don't earn a living wage six years after graduating high school, but a handful of campuses are beating those odds, according to new research from nonprofit Good Reason Houston.
While about two-thirds of Houston students enroll in college after graduation, just over one-quarter earn a degree. Even fewer earn a living wage within six years, the nonprofit’s 2025 study found. At a conference Thursday, Good Reason Houston highlighted two high schools — Aldine ISD’s Victory Early College High School and Pasadena ISD’s Memorial High School — where students are significantly more likely to do so.
