Pasadena plans to light up Highway 225 underpasses and hopes people will hold events there
8 Sep 2022
A project aims to transform a shadowy area where some Pasadena streets pass under Texas 225 into a well-lit space attractive for staging events.
The Pasadena Economic Development Corp.'s (PEDC) Shaver-Munger-Main Underpass Project will add lighting where those streets pass under the highway - areas that are dim and dingy, even on sunny days.
The goal of the $500,000 project is to sprawn interest in uses for that property, said Sheena Salvino, PEDC's redevelopment manager.
When finished, the underpass areas could be used for events such as a festival, farmer's market or a car show.
